Owner and Principal

Jerelle Anderson, NCARB, AIA, ASID

Jerelle is the principal and founder of The Nine Studio, an architecture and interior design firm based in Washington, DC. She knew very early on that design was her lane as she played with her older brother’s Lincoln Logs and rearranged her Barbies’ furniture sets. So it was no surprise that after building a foundation of working for prestigious, multi-disciplinary design firms throughout the DC area for over 10 years, that her passion would develop into The Nine Studio. With her multi-disciplinary background, Jerelle looks at spaces holistically and creates cohesive design that balances dramatic, bold moves with modern, clean lines.

Jerelle is recognized as one of the first 400 licensed, black women architects in the nation’s history. She is an alumna of Spelman College with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics, Tulane University with a Master of Architecture, and the University of Pennsylvania with a Master of Environmental Building Design. She is also a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID).
